https://www.facebook.com/groups/61351968857/permalink/10156630296778858/ Alex Gentry is feeling bummed. 10 hrs Im really kinda bummed out right now, i dont like drama because its not beneficial to either side and no one really wins, its all about egos and its destructive. we can and should do better, there is no reason for this feud to continue. again I ask these two to find a way to make nice, someway somehow, even if it means ignoring each other and having nothing to do with each other. there is no need for Mickey to attack Safer because he dislikes Dave, and there is no reason for Dave to attack Mikey personally because of it. first off i like Mickey. second i like David. i consider them friends and i dont like them arguing. I dont like the Safer initiative being misrepresented by Mickey which is what's happening, and I dont like David's response to it. I have spoken with both of these guys and I wish there was someway they could find a place to forgive each other and move forward. that wont be easy because ego doesn't want to permit it. both believe they are right and the other wrong. I have to say this for the record the issue here is between David and Mickey, not between Safer and Mickey, even tho Safer is the brunt of the feud between these two and has been mercilessly attacked by Mickey. it did not begin with their current argument, it has been ongoing for quite sometime, I just wish it would end. Im not willing to allow this to become an issue between Safer and Mickey. Some clarification. We do not use Mickey's program, nothing was stolen by anyone. Yes, Mickey was voted off the board and stated he was going to quit regardless. I voted to keep him even tho I disagreed with some of the things he was doing. I felt we could make the necessary changes but that did not work out. Regardless of Mickeys claims of the opposite, and I have spoken to him about this before but that has not helped him change his position, Safer does not prevent personal grows a 1,000 feet from schools, it prohibits commercial grows a 1,000 feet from schools. Cities will not be able to prohibit business from selling cannabis because all stores will be able to sell it and no cannabis specific ordinances, or zoning restrictions can be passed. Safer ends felony prohibition in Arizona by removing all felony law against cannabis/marijuana etc and deschedules cannabis from Arizona's schedule 1 and opens an expansive, currently prohibited, market for economic opportunity for everyone from the bottom up. There are two misdemeanors in this initiative that are for an adult 21 years of age or older who sells euphoric cannabis to a minor and provides for fines for such. Post conviction relief and expungement, gun rights, child custody protections, asset forfeiture protections and more. Mickey likes to call the initiative a "prop 205 lite" or some such. nothing could be further from reality. Mickey, as a libertarian, should know better. He should be willing to admit that the economic opportunity and freedom for cannabis and consumers with this initiative is leaps and bounds beyond anything currently enacted in the united states and probably in the world. Dave's response imho is harsh and at times over the top. there is no sense in calling Mikey names, it does nothing to further dialogue or change opinion, it only fuels the flame. sticking to the facts and avoiding ad hominem attacks goes a long way to help others understand ones position. I dont even like writing this, it bums me out, and is disheartening. again I call for Mikey to stop attacking Safer if he doesn't like it and just go promote RAD without the mudslinging, and for Dave to withhold the personal attacks and mudslinging when Mickey misrepresents our initiative or does something else to trigger him. unfortunately as Chair of the Safer board it falls to me to give an official statement, so this is it. I really want to end cannabis prohibition in Arizona, it will do so much for our freedom in this state and when we stop to consider how interwoven the war on drugs is with society there should be no question about getting it done. the more of us out there working to make it happen the better off we all will be when it happens. lets work together and take back what is ours to begin with. Thank you. He has acted like a child about all of this. I will not continue to give him satisfaction. But be assured he has committed libel, it would do not good to sue him for this. He needs to move on or be shut down. LikeShow more reactions · Reply · 1 · 2 hrs · Edited Remove Harry Piquel Harry Piquel It sucks to be pushed out. It causes addiction and psychological .. discomfort. I feel for Mickey, but Safer Arizona is more than good enough. Go get it and stay focused. When it's over, hopefully you can puff a doobie together and sort it out. I'm not looking to push anyone out or make an example of anyone. I want people to grow up and be civil. LikeShow more reactions · Reply · 3 · 2 hrs · Edited Remove Mickey Jones Write a reply... Im beginning to think this is an outright attempt to make us look bad and drive wedges into new relationships. pack up the ego. He refuses to compromise anywhere, anyhow! Unfortunately Mickey is doing more to undermine these things than help! I can understand his being voted off the Board! And his saying he was going to leave any way is like some saying "I quit" AFTER they are fired! I agree the feud should stop, and I believe it can/will as soon as Mickey learns to play nice and stop insisting EVERYBODY & EVERYTHING be HIS WAY! So, rather than trying to throw a hail mary from our own 20, it is necessary to march the ball down the field. Sorry for the football analogy, but it applies here and can help understand. Prohibition must end, but I don't think we can get it in one swipe. Mickey would need the other team to forfeit to win. They will not. But in a sense, Mickey is important because he's shining the light on the ideal to which we all would like to move. Prohibition doesn't prevent young people getting the stuff .. they get it anyway. So, why do they get it? Research indicates that there are two factors: 1) forbidden fruit is movitaving, and 2) marginalization from a group drives addictive and other questionable behaviors and demand for the drug overuse we're trying to prohibit. So, just like we need to eradicate prohibition, we also should strive to reduce social marginalization as a punitive measure. As I mentioned he's e VERY STUBBORN Hard-Liner who won't budge or compromise. If we are to see the eventual legalization we have to navigate the landscape according to its demographic and follow a plan specific to it. Mickey wants ALL OR NOTHING! He's being VERY selfish in this. While he's dicking around DEMANDING everything goes according to HIS DEMANDS, people are still going to jail and Mickey Clearly doesn't give a rat's ass about any of that! That shows how short-sighted and selfish he truly is!!! Like · Reply · 1 · 9 mins Mickey Jones Write a reply... Choose File Cindy Farnsworth Cindy Farnsworth I have signed this attempt at " Legalization" But being very honest. I have been talking to you guys ever since we got started in the anti prohibition business!! We will never get what we really want until the feds take it off of the schedule. And if you do get this law passed it is a bandage on the problem. There are places getting busted all over this country. They are in their places " legal" But not as far as the damn government is concerned. So if we do get this law passed the feds have more folks to us in prison at a federal level. And they do not just do it for 5 years. They do it for years and years. and sometimes for life! So Micky is right. But the more folks meet all of us and get to know then they change their minds about cannabis.!! Like · Reply · 2 mins |
