I saw one of those Bird or Razor electric scooters that seemed to have been hotwired.
Just for fun I snapped some photos of it so I could maybe figure out how to do it.
It looks like whoever did it removed a round cap on the handlebars to get to the electronics.
The round cap looks like it is just a metal disk maybe 2 inches in diameter that just pops off.
There are 3 single wires under the cap.
There are also two sets of 3 wires each which are connected with a white connector of some type.
It looks like the guy cut the thick black wire, which is maybe an eighth of an inch in diameter.
I don't have any idea what the thick black wires does. I don't even have a guess.
It looks like the guy also cut the small white and small yellow wire.
The small white and yellow wires are about the size of the wires used to connect a landline phone to the telephone company central office. The size of the small wires are about the size of wires used in an RJ-11 or RJ-14 connector. I'm guessing they are about 24 gauge wires.
I suspect that the white and yellow wires were used to bypass the software so the scooter can be driven without being electronically unlocked.
But that's just a guess.
There are also two sets of 3 wires each which connect to each other with a pair of white connectors.
One set of wires is black, blue and red.
The other set of wires is black, green and and red.
They are also small wires which are maybe 24 gauge wires.
I suspect the guy disconnected these two sets of wires to keep people from stealing the scooter from him.
I suspect that if the two sets of wires are reconnected the scooter will run when the go lever is pushed.
