I just had a talk with Mesa City Councilman Ryan D Winkle about legalizing marijuana. Yea, he is the guy that just did time for drunk driving in Sheriff Joe's former gulag. He asked me to call him and that's why I talked to him. He is interesting in legalizing it. I told him two other people who might be helpful to talk to are Mike Shipley and Rain Baker. So I referred him to both of you. He knew about Mike Shipley because of your initiative. He didn't know about Rain, so I gave him the spiel on how Rain was railroaded by the Phoenix Police for her marijuana farmers markets. And how Rain would be a good person to talk to about the medical benefits of marijuana. So if he contacts you it might be because of me. While he is a Democrat, he seemed confused on what party he wants to be. He said he used to be both an Independant and a Republican. And he knows about Libertarians. I told him that to check out the Libertarians Party Platform on why all drugs should be legalized. I told him it could be found at LP.ORG but I didn't remember where the platform is. I also mentioned PCC and NORML as other places to learn more about marijuana. He knows about Mikel Weisser and NORML. But I don't think he knows about PCC. I also mention AMMA as one source of info even though I don't like them. I gave him the spiel on how the people who want medical and recreational marijuana monopolies are a big part of the problem. And how the only solution is to complete legalize marijuana with out any government intervention. I also told him about RAD and Safer Arizona. And explained that I was kicked out of Safer Arizona because I was complaining that Tom Dean was turning the initiative into another Prop 205. I was pretty scared before I called him. But once I started talking about drugs, I can do that for days without being afraid.
