Sadly Emperor Donald Trump is a pathological liar who will say ANYTHING to get elected.
When I read the first article saying Donald Trump was pro-marijuana I thought great. Buy as the Presidential campaign went on I noticed that Trump was playing both sides of the field and telling the pro-marijuana folks we was in favor of legalizing. And telling the anti-marijuana folks that he was in favor of prohibition. And I posted a number of articles on both Facebook and listservers documenting Trump's lies, or stand of wanting to legalize marijuana and keep marijuana illegal. Bottom like is politicians will say anything to get elected. They all seem to be pathological liars.
Montini: Donald Trump's pot promise goes up in smoke EJ Montini, opinion columnist Published 7:32 a.m. MT Jan. 5, 2018 | Updated 8:29 a.m. MT Jan. 5, 2018 EJ Montini: Donald Trump promised to leave marijuana legalization up to states. Then he got elected. Maybe it’s a smokescreen. Maybe President Donald Trump is trying to draw attention away from his growing problems with the Russia investigation, or the embarrassing descriptions of him and his administration in the new Michael Wolff book, “Fire and Fury,” or its damning quotes about the president from Trump’s former BFF Steve Bannon. Maybe it’s Trump throwing a bone to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, himself caught up in the Russia investigation. Or maybe it’s simply Trump breaking another promise. The attorney general on Thursday ditched guidelines by the Obama administration that kept the feds from interfering with state laws dealing with legal marijuana. This isn’t what Trump promised during the campaign. Just the opposite. Trump once said he'd leave it to states Politifact published a review of Trump’s many pledges to leave marijuana legalization up to states. For example, he said on TV in Colorado: "I wouldn’t do that [using federal authority to shut down recreational marijuana], no … I wouldn’t do that … I think it’s up to the states, yeah. I’m a states person. I think it should be up to the states, absolutely." There were many other examples. Politicians from both sides of the aisle are condemning the administration and Trump for going against his promise. But the fact that they (or anyone else) believed him in the first place is enough to make a rational person ask: What were they smoking?
