One justifiable reason we hate the police.
<p>
Sent a letter to a friend which who is in the Pinal County jail and the police that run the jail returned it.
<p>
Their claim is that clippings of articles from any newspaper or magazine are contraband that is not allowed to be sent to prisoners.
<p>
There reason for refusal says:
<blockquote>
2. Reason for denial: Per policy, 
nothing may be torn from any of 
publication and sent into the facility. 
Entire mailing must be returned to 
the sender.
</blockquote>
I can't think of any logical reason for this refusal to give an inmate a newspaper clipping, other then an attempt by the cops that run the jail to make life as difficult for the inmates as possible.
<p>
My friend is awaiting trial and has not been convicted of anything.
